Mission Statement

Faculty Affairs and Professional Development (FAPD) works with the leadership, faculty and administrators of the Perelman School of Medicine and the Health System to support an overarching goal of PENN Medicine - the implementation of the highest standards of excellence in academic medicine.  The mission of FAPD is to support this goal by facilitating the recruitment and appointment, promotion, and retention of distinguished faculty. Read more

Recently Promoted Faculty

Yael P. Mosse, MD 

Associate Professor of Pediatrics 

Dr. Mosse is an outstanding physician-scientist in the field of pediatric oncology whose research focuses on neuroblastoma genomics and developmental therapeutics. Her investigations have been instrumental in the discovery of activating anaplastic lymphoma kinase (ALK) mutation in familial neuroblastoma. Following this discovery, her ongoing studies have focused on the specific therapeutic targeting of ALK. She has a successful record of grant funding. She is recognized for her leadership in national clinical trials through the Children’s Oncology Group (COG) and has served as Vice Chair of the COG Pediatric Phase I Consortium. Her publications are in high impact journals including Science Translational Medicine, Nature, The Lancet Oncology, and Cancer Cell. She was elected to the American Society for Clinical Investigation in 2013. She is on the editorial board of Cancer Research Breaking Advances and is a reviewer for a number of additional journals.
